Because of the significant increase in transmissibility of the COVID virus, it's necessary that we cancel our planned September 17th meeting of the MOAA Black Hills Chapter.
In the midst of the COVID Virus, we're anxious to return to a "normal" schedule of activities. Just as things appeared to be improving, new strains arrived on the scene and nearly all counties in West River – including Pennington – are reporting a "High Level" of community transmission. This is not a good time for meeting.
We've already heard from members who had hoped to attend – but cannot because of COVID issues in the family. The Board and I have a responsibility and obligation to help ensure that our chapter meetings are held in a safe environment.
Accordingly, after consulting with members of our Board, I've decided we should err on the side of caution and cancel the meeting. While this has not been an easy decision, we are hopeful that circumstances with the COVID virus will have improved by the time of our December meeting. Updates will be posted on this website.
