FALL 2021 MEETING - 11:30am- FRIDAY, SEPT. 17TH

American Legion Post #22, 818 E. Saint Patrick St., Rapid City

These have been busy times for the South Dakota National Guard, and we look forward to receiving an update about Guard activities from Major General Jeffrey Marlette, South Dakota Adjutant General.

General Marlette – a Lifetime Member of the Military Officers Association of America and a longtime member of our Black Hills Chapter – has graciously consented to accommodate several changes to our meeting schedule over the past many months due to the coronavirus.

Appointed South Dakota's 22nd Adjutant General in June 2019, General Marlette serves as the Commanding General for both the South Dakota Air and Army National Guard and guides the preparation of 4,200 Air and Army National Guard citizen Soldier and Airmen and 950 full-time federal and state employees to respond in times of state or national emergency.

Our session begins at 11:30 a.m. and will include a plated luncheon ($12/person).  Also, a reminder that there's adequate parking behind the Post #22 building, and that the entry to the building is readily accessible from the back lot.

Mid-September is a busy time!

September 17th – the third Friday of September – is POW/MIA Recognition Day, and we shall pay tribute those who were held captive and returned, as well as those who remain missing.  Also, the day following our meeting will mark the 74th year of the United States Air Force, founded on September 18, 1947, and we'll acknowledge this special day!
